Description
The Skydyne Company designed, manufactured, and tested this reusable Defender Doppler Radar Case for military use. These cases are isolated, vibration-tested, and airtight, making them a vital means of transporting sensitive electronic equipment such as antennas. Manufacturing these radar cases to be both robust and lightweight is also important for mobility. These are a few reasons why the U.S. Air Force utilizes these isolated and airtight radome cases for the safe transport of doppler radars from one location to the next.
This Defender Doppler Radar Case is constructed using welded and extruded aluminum. Skydyne coats each Defender antenna case with iridite, which protects the aluminum from corrosion. Also, Skydyne stamps each of these containers with stiffening ribs and equips them with welded-on hat sections which add rigidity. Custom foam bumpers are attached to the outside base of the case to provide a safety barrier between cases. Additionally, this aluminum antenna container is manufactured to be airtight and watertight with custom enclosures for desiccants. Skydyne equips each container with a wire-rope-isolated cradle system which protects the antenna from drops and vibrations which may occur during transport.
